"Call Me Ben" NYC ballet debut June 5th 2010, Spring 2010 internship with J. Mendel

 Melissa Barak Choreographer for "Call Me Ben" and former NYC Ballet member works with one of the ballet dancers.

Pictures of inspiration mounted on the boards at J. Mendel.  the era was 1940's with glamor and beauty of gowns, pin stripe suits created then and redesigned now.  the sketch is a concept gown for Jennifer Ringer, Principal NYC ballet dancer.

Architecture of Dance Back drop designed and sketched by the featured Architect asked to design sets for new choreography to debut this summer at the NYC Ballet.

   

fabric materialization ideas mounted on the wall at J. Mendel this was part of our opportunity to be involved in the design process.  we would come up with as many materialization ideas as possible and then Mr. Mendel and the design team would chose what they liked and make it part of a dress.

A collection of designs for the NYC Ballet, I had the opportunity to assist the designers in the preparation of the long gown with asymmetrical piece made from tulle and embellished with crystals.  I assisted the designers in heat setting the crystals and took photo copies and photographs to be sent to production. this piece was worn by Jennifer Ringer the Principle Ballerina in "Call Me Ben".
